Is it a Dyson or a Hoover?
This time around, it’s not about the death of the undead dictator, the whereabouts of Raul or the elimination of la libreta.
Worse, it’s about the whereabouts and the timeline of the sickness of fidel castro.
We have been informed that the latest rumor has been directed to the foreign press in Havana, to mislead the young and unseasoned reporters to believe that castro could not be doing that badly as many of the old wolves of the European press in Cuba have gathered.
So they have assembled a new rumor, saying that fidel castro never left the building, in the most literal way possible. The propaganda machine and the military counterintelligence have planted their agents at all levels and they are saying that castro was operated just after his return from the activities of July 26th 2006 on his personal clinic located in the same building where his offices are, in the Consejo de Estado headquarters at the Plaza de la Revolucion, and that he has been kept there where he’s working and writing his “blog entries”.
It sounds somehow plausible that Castro was treated by his personal physicians on site, but we have a very detailed description of the facility and while it does have an operating room with high tech equipment and all sort of diagnostic machines and life supports, it was not sufficient to carry on the complex surgeries required by Castro conditions.
Some of you would recall that we actually placed the intestinal problems previous to his trip to Argentina, and that we said that the trip plus the stress of the July 26th speech did him in. We mentioned that he had a colostomy bag already when he went to Argentina, and that he had a slew of medical problems by that time.
So we need to put to rest the rumors planted by the Castro propaganda machine through moles everywhere specially in traditional journo watering holes like Marina Hemingway, El Floridita, the Ambos Mundos and La Bodeguita del Medio. The rumors have been such that the very same location of Punto Cero have been murkied in such ways that even some journalists have been handed Google Earth print-outs with conflicting locations for the compound.
In a twist reminiscent to that classic Graham Greene novella, Our Man in Havana, many of these journos have been fed with the proverbial scheme of the vacuum cleaner, some with sketches of a Hoover, some with sketches of a Dyson, but they are vacuum cleaners, not the real McCoy. The deception runs deep, and even our blog was tried to be fed that information, and yeah, our man down there seemed to have swallowed hook, bait, sink, and line. He took the rumor, seem convinced and we instructed him not to show his face anymore at the site where he was fed it.
Our sources on the medical profession affirm that Castro was taken to the CIMEQ after a consultation with doctor Salman Hussein, his personal physician (no, he’s not Iraqi, he is not Egyptian, he is not Syrian, he is Cuban of Arab backgrounds from the province of Holguin)
Castro was not doing greatly, and he was losing blood internally. Dr. Salman Hussein determined that he had to be taken urgently to the CIMEQ. Castro refused the helicopter ride, and he was taken in his own caravan from his offices at the Plaza de la Revolucion complex to the CIMEQ.
He botched his first surgery, by giving orders to his surgeons who operated under threat. Then the complications arrived, and we have information about seven surgeries in a brief period of time. He was transferred by ambulance to Cira Garcia, in the Kohly section of Playa, and he insisted in ordering around his doctors and in administering himself a treatment of his own concoction. He took a turn for the worst, and he was taken out of the Cira Garcia Clinic wrapped in blankets and driven in his own caravan back to CIMEQ.
At some point, he was taken to the clean room at the labs in Bejucal, where the infamous vaccine for hepatits B is produced (it is a derivative from the E-Coli virus). In that facility they also produce Grade A Interferon, and our sources on site reported his presence the same night he arrived to the out of limits area.
Ony the highest ranking scientists were left there with a few doctors and a very select foreign staff.
We have a million conjectures but nothing that would be proven to be the absolute truth of what happened there. Curiously during a hurricane a military scuba diver was sent to the out of limits basement -or is it a flooded bunker?- to retrieve a non identified substance. The diver died in the attempt, but Castro wrote a piece saying that there were no casualties as a result of the storm. What was down in the flooded basement that was so important that Castro had to have immediately is still a mystery.
After more treatment and possibly more surgeries at the CIMEQ, Dr. Salman Hussein pleaded with Castro and Dr. Garcia Sabrido from the Institute Gregorio Marañon accepted to go to Cuba and take a look at Castro. Note of interest: Dr. Garcia Sabrido is a close friend of Mirta Diaz Balart. Our sources at the Gregorio Marañon leaked to us a good deal of information, which was also published in Spanish newspapers.
Since then, Castro’s health has taken a turn for the worse, so badly that Raul Castro ordered that the personal team of Castro was placed close by, and also activated the transition team –all as approved back in the seventies in the First Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba, where the succession process was lay down. In several posts we have described the complications of his many surgeries.
At this point, the military intelligence and counterintelligence apparatus are “drawing a lot of vacuum cleaner sketches”. Those “sketches” are being fed to the press, to the population, and to the exile community in a very effective fashion, even causing upheaval and disruption in Miami. As we have said, whenever the government of Cuba wants to create a “credible” rumor, they launch it first in the exile community.
The tyranny is gathering very good information about the reaction of the population and the exiles. They are evaluating the response of the defense forces, the intelligence, the police, the emergency response services, and the general population (both in Cuba and in the USA) and what is even more important, the reaction exiles and the internal dissidents.
The irrelevance of Fidel Castro is such now that the country is working without him, and the succession in power has been practically achieved. The destruction and deconstruction of his myth has been started already, and it has been done according to the communist liturgy as established by the Soviet method. All that is needed now is to determine when will be convenient that he dies, and when to announce it.
It’s very unlikely that the news leak out, unless it’s absolutely convenient for both the government of the USA and the Junta headed by Raul Castro. We will continue developing this theme, since we are still verifying crucial information about what’s been cooked in the cupola of power in Havana.

One thing is for sure, he languishes, probably painfully which is what he deserves, it's the karma he created for himself, and the death he deserves, thanks Charlie for keeping us up to date, I'll stay tuned
Great information, thanks.
I have thought for some time now that the best case scenario for announcing his death is page 3 in Granma.
If you don't mind self promotion, here's the article

Rob
Great post !! Very informative !!
Thanks Vana, Rob and Invincible Rider, for your comments.
Rob, there's nothing wrong with self promotion. I think the news will be given in the frontispiece of Granma, but with the same spirit as if it belonged in Page 3. Actually, with the same spirit as it belonged in Page 6 of the New York Post.
Castro is totally irrelevant, but only a few of us see it that way....
There's a distinction to be made here. While in practical terms, he may be irrelevant, in emotional terms, he is not. Grant us our brief moment of satisfaction, the one our parents and grandparents didn't get (petty as we may be), and then we will continue the struggle.
RSNLK, as long as the moment of satisfaction is not mistaken by the final objective or the freedom of Cuba, is ok. But Fidel Castro is totally irrelevant at this moment, he has no importance whatsoever at this point. Another thing is, yes, we can hate Fidel Castro all we want, but he is only ONE man. If ONE man ONLY put us down for so long it doesn't talk very nicely of us. It is the system, he was just the face of the system. It was a system composed by thousands of followers willing to torment and torture their fellow Cubans. The death of Castro means very little at this time, we need to concentrate in the destruction of his system as a whole, and our hate for castro can not overwrite our love for freedom, if we miss that objective, Cuba will never be free.
What's bigger, the hatred for Castro or the love for a free Cuba and the desire to see 12 million Cubans free forever?
As I have say many times, throw a big bang party. Then do not complain if the world says: hey, your beef was with Castro, now we can deal freely with whomever comes after him!
There's nothing accomplished or nothing to celebrate. Castro is dying WITHOUT punishment. Justice has NOT been delivered. Any celebration will be totally unjustified. One can actually have a celebratory drink or many. But there's nothing to celebrate until Cuba is FREE.
The trademark of all communist regimes has been misinformation. Orwell could not have written a better “manifesto” . In Kuba NewSpeak has been a daily fare from the very first transmission of Radio Rebelde. And from the death of Camilo to this last novela about KaSStro’s health KubaSpeak has been at the helm of every bit of information that eventually makes it to the public.
Hitler had its Ministry of Propaganda , but it was not only propaganda the ministry was entrusted with , but plain lies .
“The valiant troops are destroying the Bolchevique strong holds blah blah”
“Our fortifications have held back the advances of the Yankee and British forces on the shores of Normandy .. and blah blah blah.”
Even as Hitler was pulling the trigger and blowing his brains off.. the propaganda machine kept spewing lies.
Now, propaganda by definition is NOT lies per se, but the “propagation of ideas reflecting the views and interests of a doctrine or cause”
In Totalitarian regimes, the views and ideas of such government are so unsavory that the only way of making them palatable is to simply lie!
While you are in Kuba, it is easy to deconstruct the misinformation... LA Bola begins, it bounces around for a few hours until it hits someone who can destroy it and the counter-Bola sees to it that they cancel each other. Matters meets anti-matter.
To the foreign press and to misinformation planted outside Kuba , things get a lot tougher to diffuse. One because the press will swallow anything that will give them a few columns of content and two the misinformation in foreign lands ,like those being planted in Cuban/American communities lately are extremely difficult to clear up.
As a simple exercise take the case of Juanita Castro. How was it that NO ONE in THAT community knew she had an ongoing and very close relationship with the brothers back in the island? Because the KaSStros CHOSE it that way.
How come there were no “scoops”? Well there were no scoops because the propaganda machine from Kuba chose to spread rumors that were the total opposite of what Juanita Castro was indeed doing in Miami. And EVERYONE swallowed it and was more than happy to go and buy their Ben-Gay at her pharmacy. Here we have tangible evidence of how easy it is to dupe a whole community with the right misinformation.
How come noone knew that Mirta Diaz-Balart kept in close contact with Fidel? Because KaSStro chose it that way and it would prejudice his “nephews” in congress! Probably his best allies knowingly or unknowingly
As far as the denials of KaSStros timelines and his presence in this or that hospital, one wonders what difference could it possibly make, but it does. When the apparatik reads that somehow KaSStros, whereabouts to almost the hour have been leaked and THEY had nothing to do with the leaks than even included the color of the blankets and the bypassing of the elevator… the machine gets antsy.
When the so call PUNTO CERO is “ exposed” and the exposure is such a blatant line of shit that one wonders if they were even thinking about this, you realize that this was self inflicted misinformation on the part of Cubans in exile based on some pictures and videos and satellite pictures. The Kuban government is not THAT stupid to place PUNTO CERO at less than 5 blocks from Quinta Ave. Hell a home made mortar would land right smack in the middle of the dinner table. On the other hand to reach the REAL PUNTO CERO you need at the very least a couple of tanks a few hundred armed men and perhaps air support. So here we have a case of self indulgence on the part of whoever decided that the house in El Laguito was PUNTO CERO.. TOTAL BULLSHIT!
The same with “Fidel’s “Mercedes” what a crock of shit!
KaSStro is more likely driving around in a Jeep than a Mercedes and if it is a Mercedes he wants there’s a fleet of Mercedes, BMWs, there is even an AUDI TT at his disposal , now look up a picture of an Audi TT and tell me if you’d expect The BEAST to be traveling in that.
So continuing with the common practice, the misinformation turns its aim to deconstructing KaSStro’s myth , making him a LOT less important that anyone though he was and gradually blaming all ills that have befallen Cuba in the last 48 years on KaSStro’s back.
It started with Juventud Rebelde , declaring that “El Comandante” had taken way too many responsibilities and in doing so , not all decisions made by the government had produced the expected results ( I guess they may be talking about the dog sized cow and the production of more cheese that Switzerland)
Now, the job is easy. It is easy because there are so many fuck ups that can (and SHOULD) be attributed to KaSStro’s megalomaniacal , micro-management & suspicious nature. If it was NOT HIS idea it could not be any good.
The “new” economic plan being put in place in Kuba now was presented to him 3 years ago. In fact this plan, had he adopted it THEN would have saved the country’s economy . The economists who presented the plan, did NOT do it out of any revolutionary fervor but because in EVERYONE’s brain (unless you are the USA government and the “Exilio Histerico”) the ONLY way to combat the regime is with a strong economy that reaches down to the common people. Hungry men and women waiting in line for 6 hours for a gallon of water do not produce great soldiers and THAT is exactly what KaSStro wanted. KaSStro’s version of “barefoot and pregnant” “Hungry, tired and scared”
At first view the report which happens to be BRILLIANT (and I am saying this cause a close childhood friend is one of the authors and I had a chance to read it while in first draft) KaSStro went ballistic declaring it the end of the revolution and mentioning that such a plan would only serve to make him haul ass outta Kuba!.. In front of the economists he threw the volume in the garbage, and the economists found themselves working in clerical jobs while the most senior due to their profound knowledge of every account and every cent KaSStro owns, found themselves in a state of constant vigil.
Now that nature has taken its course comes the job of smearing the MAXIMUM LEADER... but they have to be careful.
As HavanaJournal incisively points out, how do they tell the people the SUMO HIJO DE PUTA aint coming back? Well, that was already accomplished by two means
The effigy of KaSStro in a VERY Lenin like stance on the July 26 speech (you do NOT get statues in a communist country if they expect you to come back)
And the declaration of Mariela Castro (who has become her father favorite spokesperson) by declaring that “Although the presence of Fidel Castro may be lacking, his spirit will always be part of the revolution.
WHAM – nail in the coffin … You are OUT ya piece of shit , and we are going ahead with the plan you threw away 3 years before.
As far as the announcement, I do not agree it will take page 3 in Granma. I think it will be a drawn out period of “he has taken a turn for the worse” and they will hammer on that until the people get immune to the news and getting to a point where they will say “ why don’t you just DIE ya piece of shit” In the meantime as KaSStros imminent death is being reported in Radio Reloj (every hour on the hour) positive economic changes will be taking the mind of the people away from KaSStros health until one day one the death is announced., the only sign we will get from the people of Cuba is a shrug and a “ well I TOLD YOU he was dead”
Something VERY similar happened in Spain where Franco convalesced for months while the country gradually prepared for a democracy and an election. By the time his death was announced pretty much every onerous law that existed in Spain had been revoked. I tell you it was a hell of a shock to see signs right off La Gran Via advertising “CASA DE PUTAS” or the selling of XXX pornography right on La Puerta del Sol!
So that is how it will play, in the meantime the rumors will go back and fro. I think this last struggle at the very top just served to strengthen Raul’s position and the Fidelistas in the group will not try anything similar ever again.
Another VERY important sign that the end of KaSStro’s rule is over is Chavez declaration that he is “
“Tired of answering questions about Fidel’s health… “ that “it does not have anything to do with my government”
WHAM.. Another nail in THAT coffin.
And one day.. Granma will have the news , news which will only be scooped by a blog that declares EVERYDAY that KaSStro is dead and on that fateful day will come up saying:
“Aha , what did WE tell you!”
In the meantime, just keep an eye to the changes taking place inside Cuba that go to improve the quality of life of the Cubans . As the new rules take place and as the semblance of freedom becomes more apparent.. THEN and only then, will an official death certificate will be issued.
