Clean up time

Our source tells us first hand about the clean up in Old Havana.
As y'all probably know, there's a dengue epidemic lingering in the city, and that doesn't play that great with the regime's propaganda avalanche about the best healthcare in the galaxy, blah, blah, blah.
Our source volunteered for the clean up, in order to give us a first hand account of what he is seeing:
The typical flat rooftops of Havana are clogged with debris and loaded with pools of stagnant water. Then you have a lot of empty lots where buildings fell down during the last hurricane season which are also partially flooded, full of old tires, and therefore full of contaminated water with tons of mosquito larvae. There are problems with the storm sewers, and with the sanitary sewers as well, and no trucks to haul all the debris outside of the city streets.
All of this while the dictator flies to South America in a conquering trip, in three planes. So much for an inexisting embargo. Yesterday, the tyrant was rumored to show up in a particular worksite, but it didn't happen, fueling rumors that he hasn't still arrived in Cuba -our source tells us that he did arrive back in Cuba- and that he was in Venezuela. Add that to the mix that runs freely on the streets about the possible union with Venezuela and you can imagine how are Cubans feeling....
We unfortunately have no photos this time around, because the international press was barred from the clean up sites, because the regime fears that its propaganda could falter if photos were sneaked out. Cuban volunteers are not supposed to have cameras, and we didn't want for our source to run any more risks.
At this moment people are really nervous, because they are fearing a madhouse ranting on July 26th. The opinion in the streets of Havana is that the famous document on the assistance to the Cuban transition couldn't be more ill-timed. They feel that kasstro has ammo to attack the dissidents since the report revealed the monetary assistance to the dissidents, in a leaking a la New York Times. Apparently the people in charge have no idea of how bad can this transmit on the Cuban dissidents who are risking it all on the ground. Please don't tell me that this part of the report couldn't be kept secret, it already has a secret annex.
And talking about leaks, this is what have leaked in Cuba to the foreing press about the marathon speech planned for July 26:
The talking points will be Iraq, Hizbollah, Israel, USA and CACF2, Latin America, particularly Venezuela. Of course there will be a barrage about Cuba and how wonderful the Robolution is, don't think you can escape that one!
The birthday bash will have a public phase in Havana, to which the dictator might or might not assist, depending on propaganda needs, plus a private bash to which a few international guests have been invited. Expect Chavez to attend.
And this was all I got.
