Walls of isolation is the only thing that the government of kagasstro has managed to build in the last forty seven years.
The mystery project that they are building today took a predicted turn: they tore the street asphalt and dug up the parking lot of the USIS. The construction machinery -as one hour ago- was almost on the sidewalk of the USIS and barely a few feet away from the fence that surrounds the building.
The American personnel of the USIS will have to park a few blocks down the street, and that will expose them to the mobs that kagasstro employs as his terrorist arm.
Also, the elimination of the parking lot amounts to an attempt to disrupt the normal activities of the USIS.
The information we are getting is that the construction workers employed on the site were substituted by a brigade of proven loyalty to kagasstro, and they are from the Eastern provinces. There's construction going on now, they are working in two shifts of 12 hours each and food is being delivered to the site. The workers are brought to the site in buses, and they leave in the same fashion, what seems to indicate that they are kept in barracks somewhere.
The ticker is functioning.
The public has been forbidden to walk around that area or to sit on the Malecon sea wall facing the construction site.
There are banks of lights -fascist stadium like- illuminating the scene and there are all sort of heavy machinery at work. Nobody's sleeping in that neighbourhood!
By the way, for all of you who are familiar with the history of Nazi Germany, Hitler was really big in building this sort of things too. The (failed) experiment with the search lights reminds me of the Zeppelinfeldt, a "virtual" monument built to host "speeches and marches" in which search lights pointing up created the effect of columns of light. I have the hunch that something of the sort will be unveiled quite soon in Havana.

I did not get any communication from La Habana last night. *MY* pc was dead. (weird after my letter was published in the NY psot , but hey shit DOES happen)
Today, from the sketchy reports I have been sent, several things are possible
1) KaSStro has blatantly taken away some priviliges granted to the USIS (such as the front gate protection, parking space and Buffer zone ) as a challenge to see IF the USIS packas up and levaes without HIM telling them to go.
That would be the least costly "FUCK YOU" KaSStro could sent the USIS.
The other is that permanet energy generators will be placed in the area and flood the building with bright light to wash out the ticker. This also is a relative inexpensive solution.
Yet another hypothesis is that an anchoring system will be set to hold some kind of balloon/zeppellin in place ( Hindenburg anyone?) to block the view.
What is VERY clear is that NO wall or billboard is going to be built.
It is also VERY clear that KaSStro has recanted on agreements with the USIS by leaving the USIS and its personeel totally at the mercy of the KaSStrist mobs.
Now, let us HOPE , the USIS had a contigency plan for this and do NOT again wind up with egg all over their faces by just accepting whatever KaSStro throws at them . If this is the case, Bush has given KaSStro another 50 years worth of credibility and the USA winds up with another FUCK UP on the minus side of their dealings with KaSStro.
