More destruction
This is what's left of the famed Malecon promenade in Havana, the destruction is making itself visible now that the waters are slowly receeding.
What follows is a loose translation of an e-mail I got from Havana:
"the city has turned into an instant -and tragic- Venice, the low laying areas are totally flooded, the salt is heavy everywhere and there's a stench of rotten garbage and who knows what else.... all the high areas are less affected, but there are flooding in low areas inland that were affected by the rain. We are returning to the abnormality of the normal here. The sewer system is not working, and the worst is yet to come.... I couldn't make it to the cemetery, but a friend told me that is flooded too, I don't want to imagine the spectacle. There's electricity in my job and the internet access is also ok here, not at home, where I have none, so I am coming here to communicate with the exterior world".

Colon Cemetery got flooded! all the way to the pauper graves and the unbelievably obscene , "bone disposal" area where little wooden boxes kept the remains of people who were exhumed after 5 years and whose family were not able to pay for maintenance of their graves. YEAH , EVERYTHING is free in KUBA.
The "strange" odor is also emanating from Monte Barreto and the mud has backed up all the sewage system in the area including those of the mansions along Quinta Ave. I guess they will be calling this Laguna Barreto because that water ain’t going ANYPLACE being that is a solid bed rock under that place.
I guess that now tourists will not only go back to the 1950s they will go back to the 1400 !

.. And of course UNIVISION has a "COMPLETE" report of the "shelters"! All nicely rusted bunk beds with mattress about 1" thick and as spotted as KaSStro's cirrhosis marked face. And THAT was the NICE part of the coverage.. The pictures CB has been posting are nowhere to be found in ANY news coverage
NO DEATHS my ASS, the stench is the rotting corpses. The predicted epidemic of gastro-intestinal deceases is just starting to emerge.
My speculation on the submarine in Havana Bay is that kagasstro was preparing a way out.
The patrimonial value of Havana is lost now. He didn't care. He hates Havana and Habaneros since his university days, when more than one Habanero stood against him.
