US military sizes the challenge of a Post Castro Cuba

A military think tank publishes a study on the challenge presented by a post castro Cuba....
We tend to think that the post-castrism that the military is contemplating here is really the post-fidel-castrism, not the post-raul-castrism, or much less the post-castrism as the post-communism. The political analysts within the American military know very well that a military junta has been in power in Cuba for a very long time, under the direction of fidel castro and his brother. They also know that the chain of command has shifted to a sector that is more raulista and that some young Turks of raulism are there as a force to be reckon with and they have expressed that power has to be shared with them in the only scenario that they would ever recognize.
Of course, this is the worse possible scenario for the Cuban people, it is just the extension of the tyrannical rule of the castros by other means and with them lurking in the background. Or not -but it actually doesn't make a difference for the Cuban people.
Freedom is the only acceptable scenario, not the half baked solutions that the think tanks desire as bland substitutes for liberty and prosperity.

Addendum: y'all might want to consult from time to time Cuba Polidata for an insight on what's cooking in the kitchens of the policy makers and doctrine definers of the American military.

Good document Charlie, It helped me see things more clearly, some of the workings of the FAR and MINNIT were beyond my understanding, is never too late to learn, seems some are preocupied with Cuba, and are aware of what's going on over there

"...North America lack significant corruption." Oh, really? What about those soldiers who were convicted of selling body armor? What about those National Guard soldiers on the border indicted of human smuggling or the Border Patrol Agents indicted on drug charges, etc? Yes, we have corruption, it's just as well followed in the media. Point being, the system (Communism) has to go.
