The Raulato
If Fidelismo was the philosophy of the lone wolf -at times canibalistic- terrorizing the whole pack of wolves, then the Raulato is the philosophy of the runt of the litter in the pack killing the leader of the pack -his brother/father- with enough spilling and spitting of blood and bone shards to terrorize all the other wolves of the pack. Sine the runt of the litter could not defeat all of them, black mailing -forcing them in the heat of the moment to bite the carcass of the dead alpha male- will do as a mechanism of control.
It then creates a blood marked alliance, in which all the wolves fear what the new leader did to the old leader and pack around him. Maybe this smaller and physically weaker alpha male leaves more females for them than the old alpha, or allows them to prey more openly on the sheep, but all have to do with the humors of the new alpha male, who will at times kill one of the old pack to remind them that he's got the power.
Secretly, some of the other wolves would wished that the runt of the litter had died at birth, but well, he's there and with power.
But what the hell, he's not telling them when to mount the females, where, and how much, and he's not worried about how much sheep they kill. So they grow used to him and eventually will forget the old alpha male -who will be remembered by only some limping old females and some dying males.
Enough of the animal kingdom.
Let's dive strait into Raul's own Ape Planet:
In case that someone didn't realize it, Cuba was a military dictatorship ruled by a junta.
Now, it's more of the same, the runt of the litter took over. And all the gorilla-brass responds to Raul, who had filled patiently all positions of power in Cuba with men loyal to him. These men -the higher ups- are bond to Raul by blood ties. Mind you, it's not blood inside their bodies, it's the splattered blood of many men and women in whose executions they participated, including some of their own comrades in communism and crime.
They all know that Raul's bloodthirsty monster. They know about his corruption and his low-base insticts. They also know that in exchange to their blind loyalty and unconditional complicity they will be given their portion in the rape of Cuba.
Last week, Raul told them a cautionary tale, so they know that he will not tolerate any dissent among them, the higher-ups.
Change in Cuba cannot come from these men.
It has to come from within the Cuban people.
The higher-ups are -always have been- a bunch of opportunistic cowards. The change has to come from within the Cuban people, not from the privileged chaste, look at Russia -the higher ups made the changes, and everything they have there is terror and corruption, and we are up for surprises wit the Russkies. Russia is just a meaner, leaner, and more agressive substitute of the old and defunct Soviet Union, run by KGB Putin and a lot of people who had much to do with the secret police and the Red Army.

In other words we and them in Cuba are fucked, how can change come from the population Charlie? they have nothing to fight with, unicamente que se tire to' el mundo pa' la calle! and I don't think that will happen, they are too hungry too tired, they have been beaten into submission, hasta cuando!
