Radio message

The successor of the tyrant will announce the tyrant's death through a pre-recorded radio message and by a pre-recorded proclamation to be read on TV by somebody from kasstro's own team, when the time comes.
It will be done during business hours, so they can mobilize the workers in an impromptu "hommage" and they can keep control of the situation, since the population is going to be herded to the "revolution square" of all cities and towns to march in front of a photograph and sign a condolence book.
This is what transpired just a few minutes ago, no word on any funeral arrangements, yet.

Update: thanks to the Western Hemisphere Policy Watch for linking us..... HMJ points out that "castro surely doesn't have time to write those quixotic diatribes" that Granma happily attributes to him.

What's our opinion on those last "reflexiones del comandante en jefe"?
That he doesn't write them.
Since the electro-mechanically transmitted word doesn't have the tell tale signs that would make the heart of a graphologist jump with joy, we went through a different avenue: we analyzed the style of the writings comparing them to other writings in which the attribution and authory are clearly castro's own.

What did we find?
The style is not even similar.
This is, in our opinion, another manoeuvre to divert the public attention from what's really happening around that Fowler bed in the CIMEQ. At the same time, they are trying to insuflate some life in what's left of the beast, the Zombie of Communism.
The intention is to make him last till the right burial time, meaning, it will have to happen after an event that puts raul in an heroic pedestal, like for example a "victory" (those commies are the master of ridiculous) over a natural disaster, namely a hurricane.

This all goes according the rigid liturgy of commiedom: the father of the revolutions dies, the executioner of the revolution rises to power (Lenin-Stalin duetto style) kasstro is sick. raul takes over and saves the population from a disaster of Armaggedon proportions, and then fidel is suddenly dead. The euphoria gives place to mourning, and immediately the myth of fidel castro starts being deconstructed by the raulistas.

They are also counting in an instant worldwide recognition of whatever successor regime they will (officially) install after the demise of the Beast. They need it. That's why in this blog for much that we hate kasstro we won't celebrate his death, we will celebrate only when a free Cuba rises from the ashes.

The regime needs a celebration to mark the final act of the fidel era. They cannot throw it, so they count on a sector of the exiled populatoin to do it for them. Why? Because after the celebration, every government in this world will say.... " well, you celebrated, so the problem was not the system, it was castro. Now he's dead, let's do business with whomever is there", and that will ensure that the same slavery keeps on yoking the Cuban people for a long period of time, just under another name.
That's why we will only celebrate the freedom of Cuba, when it becomes a fact.

The procedure of the radio and TV messages, not his death. I got confirmation of the modus operandis just a few moments before I posted. They are following more or less the Soviet book to a t, I suspect that they would play revolutionary music and pamphletarian nueva trova songs once he kicks the bucket. The part that I found more interesting was that the plan is to release the information once everybody is in their work places, so the population is under control.
One good idea, Cuba Watcher, would be to monitor movement of troops and police. Maybe some evidence of movements would indicate that his final hour has come.

We have to address mails that we have received about castro's personal Mercedes Benz, and his "house near the Spanish Ambassador house".
It's ridiculous to even think that castro has a "personal mercedes" when it's well known that his paranoia leads him to change cars, houses, drivers, cooks, and security retinue at whim. We also have evidence that the "casa de protocolo" was never his "ambulatory" digs, but his own house nearby was. That "casa de protocolo" is reserved for certain visitors of importance.
Those visitors have been Mirta Diaz Balart and Hugo Chavez, but the list is by no means limited to them.
We do not think that castro is relevant anymore. It's the same if he is alive or dead at this point, and people believe that castro's death will forcibly lead to changes in Cuba, when the situation is mostly similar to the succession from Lenin to Stalin (father of the revolution dies, executioner of the revolution takes over)
So at this point, all we can do is the same as the Cubans of the island are doing now, wait.
We need to be cautious, and we have said on this blog many times that a celebration for the death of castro will automatically legitimize (at least to the eyes of the world) the successor to come. In this case raul. They are going to tell us, "hey, you celebrated, so that's a done deal, now let's do business with him....." This is not a case of muerto el perro se acabo la rabia, this is deeper, and more ingrained in the future than it is in the past.

Well yesterday Raul's daughter openly admited to a Spanish newspaper THE BEAST is not coming back , that "perhaps" his spirit will remain but that her dad is firmly implanted as the oficial leader!
She followed up with a jab at KaSStro saying that she expects that now the goverment will take a more liberal pragmatic approach to the needs of the people and concentrate more in fixing INTERNAL problems instead of INTERNATIONAL problems.
Pretty much the Coup de grâce to Beast # 1. As we said almost a year ago , the first step will be to tear down the myth and blame everything (albeit in baby steps) on KaSStros egotistical and despotic ruling. Then try to turn Raul into a hero (yeah lets forget how many that prick killed!)so he will be accepted as a savior by the Cuban people. the closing game played by the commie book to a T!

So, this is how it's going to go down with Fidel's death? Let's just get that out of the way so all those who think his death means something will be silenced. The tyranny will obviously continue. Sorry, too tired from everything today to leave a useful comment.

That's a useful comment.
People need to learn history, so the same mistakes are not repeated. But.... we repeated the same mistakes we commit with Lenin and with Stalin with the two castros.
Actually, there's a chance to turn all of this around. A Cuban government in Gtmo Base, let's move the disidents to Gtmo, conduct elections, and then rile the whole damn world in their support. Problem is, the political establishment WON'T ALLOW the disidents to be considered for the job. I mean the political establishment of the CASTROS AND THE DIAZ BALARTS, the same family....

My personal feeling is optimistic in the sense that for the very fact that "FIDEL" is/was "the revolution" itself - his death will also be the "death of the revolution". Not in 'our minds' mind you, but it will be a very sobering realization in the minds of, not only the Cuban population at-large, but in the very hearts of the most die-hard Fidelistas.

Raul and whoever the "raulistas' are, will have no chance whatsoever to continue the 'forceful' ideological rhetoric ala-FIDEL and transform Cuban society and economy to satisfy the thirst for improvement and change.

The 'cracks' and will come not from the population at-large, nor the dissidents, but from the 'ranks' of the middle-level of the tyranny.

Mark this down!

CB,

What's the latest on the adidas wearing dictator? I believe he is still alive, but the dictatorcizes no longer work! You are correct in that they will control eveything and release the info in way that the masses can not react, just like in russia as you pointed out... so... should I get the champagne ready to pop???

I will get my champagne ready only when Cuba is free. Before that, I have nothing to celebrate.

Just read this, was away yesterday, it seems they are getting ready, and holding rehersals for the announcement of the beast's death, unfortunately as you guys say, this wont change much in Cuba, for 45 years I have been wating for this death, and it's too sad to think, it's all for naught

What's also interesting to consider is the approaching Hurricane Dean.

I expect the death announcement to be made next week. Now, that said, things on the island have gotten very bad. Food staples have become VERY expensive - adding to the already agitated atmosphere. If Dean causes a lot of damage and the announcement is made - Raulita could be in for a REALLY rough time.

Cuba Watcher, rough times with the supplies generally precede an increase of repression.... I don't think that raul will have it that bad, I think that the Cuban people will have it really bad.
I really don't know when the death announcement will be made, but I don't think they will do it when a hurricane is to hit the island. They will wait until the storm passes and raul is hailed as a hero for "solving" the problems, at the same time castro image will be used in the same fashion el Cid's body was used, to guarantee the morale and to "tell the enemy" that he's fronting the show. They need a calm moment after a "revolutionary victory" to tell the bad news to the population.... at this point, they are dismantling castro's myth, little by little, so the population is getting used to his absense and to his irrelvancy.

KC and CB,

This idea of Raul & Co. deconstructing the castro myth is an interesting one. The "Revolution" was the cardboard scenery that hid the ugly, cynical truth about the state apparatus of repression. Many a tourist (or useful idiot) bumped their nose against it while taking the "Walking in Che's Footsteps" tours or standing at the edge of Cayo Coco, looking toward Moron.
Now it's time for them to tear that one down and construct a new facade.
I'm back on the internet after moving, glad to see you guys still working hard.
Sandra

Charlie;
Reckon I'll save the champagne for when Cuba is free, maybe we can all drink it together, when that fateful day arrives, in Havana of course, but you wont begrudge me feeling happy when the beast meets the devil, will you? and celebrating at home, with my loved ones, I cannot wait, we have waited way too long

Vana, I won't begrudge anyone. But really, one might celebrate right now, or never, or the day after tomorrow, or when the news are given. It's absolutel the same. The only motive I will have is to celebrate when Cuba is free. Otherwise, to me, and to the Cubans in the Island, and to KillCastro, it will look like a celebration for raul taking over.

Raul and his cadre MUST immediately begin building up tremendous amount of good will with the Cuban people, that is post and parcel of the deconstruction methodology. Every faux "achievement" that gets unmasked as a Beast # 1 fiasco needs to be mitigated by an act of good will by Beast # 2. Samples are abundant right now, people serving 15 years jail sentences without trial are being told to go home. We already mentioned the buses, Raul's daughter emphatically stating that HER fathered revolution will take a very different approach to KaSStros revolution and blame will be laid right on those who deserve blame and not automatically point north and scream bloody murder against the yanks. As Raul delivers "something" with one hand a chips away at KaSStros myth he also begins scrapping away at 48 year of mistrust towards the USA. The USA in general will eventually have to sit down and TALK (yeah they want Cuba to stay just as it is.. BUT the rest of the world want a prosperous, dynamic Cuba, and the USA government is not THAT stupid at some point they will go "FUCK south Florida and the Bahamas..." time to shake hands drink some mojitos and let bygones be bygones. Hey if Gloria Estefan can turn a blind eye , why should the USA government not do the same?

Us in the USA will find this reprehensible BUT those in the island will see this as a tremendous step forward as far as civil liberties is concerned, not even counting the fact that they will be going to bed with a full belly and will be able to buy a god damn cell phone. So, that NOONE claims "surprise" or disgust or treason when this happens .. *A* USA government WILL deal with Raul KaSStro and a Chinese model will take place in Cuba. And for the Cubans in the island it will be a breath of fresh air!
So whose who will start crying foul when the USA embassy opens for business with a KaSStro in power .. You may start screaming NOW!
