Obama at the Miami Dade Auditorium, Analysis.
Let's see what Obama said:
"Just 90 miles from here there is a country where justice and freedom are out of reach. That's why my policy toward Cuba will be guided by one word: Liberty" (interesting, how do you plan to achieve that?)
"freedom in Cuba begins with the release of political prisoners" (freedom in Cuba begins with the dismantling of the dictatorship and with the release of all political prisoners, Obama.... it's actually a tad more complicated and it has to include the end of the tyranny as a premise)
"There are no better ambassadors for change on the communist island than the Cuban Americans who send money to relatives" (sounds familiar)
"It can help make their families less dependent on Fidel Castro. That's the way to bring about real change in Cuba, it's time we had a president who realized that." (It would be interesting to see what blogs are his wordsmiths reading)
This is what the press spins out, it maybe is out of context.
But.... this goes almost exactly on what we have been saying here, but notice that the other day there was no mention of political prisoners, and at least in these excerpts there is no mention of the "post-fidel" government.
I simply cannot trust him, because.... there's still no mention of the dry foot wet foot, about the unjustly kept "non-prisoners" at Guantanamo Bay, and about the selectively applied immigration laws to make it difficult to Cubans to seek asylum in American embassies when they are abroad.
Also, it's said that among his statements was this one:
"I wouldn't lift the trade embargo"
(What embargo, Obama? don't you know that there's a cash and carry policy and that there are many groups in this country that benefit from it? Travel and asistance to family members and friends, and to whomever one wants has nothing to do with the so called embargo. Politicians of all colors and stripes insist in lumping them together with very confusing results)
"I would normalize relationships with a post-Castro Cuba after the country opens up to democratic change"
(That's a step of advance since the otherday, when he was insisting in dealing with a "Post-Fidel" government. If you remember, a mere two days ago he was saying "Post-Fidel", I wonder what made him change his mind or if this happens only because he got a roasting on this blog)
"Until there's justice in Cuba, there's no justice anywhere'' (This sounds nice, but.... sounds also like what Bush said in his campaing stop in Little Havana)
"We will talk to our enemies as well as our friends and both to our enemies and to our friends, we will tell them the truth and tell them what we stand for" (Aw, you will have to concurr with me that this sounds like just plain old pandering)
And the press also reports about a group of about "thirty five people" who was protesting outside the auditorium.
Let's say what they said..... and I quote from the Sun Sentinel:
"Laura Vianello, a member of the group, said Obama's proposed policies toward Cuba were a huge mistake. She said families have always been able to send humanitarian aid but should not be allowed to visit family on the island more frequently."
I for one, have no way of sending medication, money -there are even limits to the amount of money one can send- or any other humanitarian aid to Cuba, by "virtue" of the obstacles erected between us and the Cuban people by both fidel castro and the politicians here. It'd be interesting to know who told this person that it was a fact that humanitarian aid could be sent to Cuba. It would be even more interesting to find out who told her that she has the authority to say that family visits should be even more regulated.
This is a real jewel, and I quote again from the paper: "If they stayed there then maybe they were communists,'' she said of the relatives of Cuban-Americans who remain on the island (!!!) Because, as y'all know, one IS free to leave Cuba with ALL your family in tow, at any time you wanted (should I take the sarcasm off my comment?) Tell me please how this works in favors of a free Cuba, tell me what can lead anyone to hate the Cubans of the island this much, because as you know, there's no love in calling anyone a commie, at least not in my book. So, according to this person, all the dissidents in Cuba MAYBE are there because they ARE commies. To bad that the journalist didn't get her views on the dry foot wet foot, I am sure that all those rafters who were born in Cuba are not commies, but MAYBE they are BORN commies, according to that person "reasoning".
Then the article goes into people being smitten by Obama, and I would take that with a grain of salt.
I would not trust him or will believe on his "great" intentions simply because a spinmeister got a good speech on paper for him. A politician is generally speaking an actor, and there's no reason to believe that he's not a great actor.
Will he deliver what he promises?
No.
Not only because this is just electoral pandering, but also because we still live in a country where the president can't take decisions without consulting with the House and the Senate. Oh, well, I am forgetting the dry-foot wet-foot, my bad.
It was penned (or "penised") by a president from the same party of the donkey, Bill Clinton. Maybe Obama doesn't remember that. The party of the elephant has kept it, and maybe Obama should be reminded of that.
In the mean time, let's the voters remember that....

It's all vomit, for 48 years the politicians have gone to Little Havana, and spewed the same shit, they all sound alike, when they get into office, they wipe their asses with us, just more of the same crap, I don't believe a damn thing any of them say
And in addition to Vana's words, I'll add that this guy is the worst of all the 'cuadrilla de hijos de puta', so there's no chance he goes away with it.
Not this time, Obama boy
