Credible fear

Let's say that you are picked up in the high seas by the BiCoastal Guard, the American corsaries at the service of the Castro regime. And that somebody on board of those boats, who wears the hat of interdictor, judge, jury, and jailer determines that you actually have credible fear of being crushed to death in Cuba for your political beliefs and activities.
What happens to you? Are you brought to the U.S. territory?
Fudgettaboutit, kid, you are sent to Guantanamo Bay and you thought that the base was only the holding pen of the terrorists of Al-Qaeda and the Taliban....

What the hell is that, trying to settle them in another country? if the USA knows damn well these people cannot be returned to Cuba, then why are they not allowed to come here? I'm really upset about this Charlie, I hope the hunger strike helps them, after all they have family here, my oh my isn't this a wonderful country

I wonder if any Cuban refugees have actually been granted asylum aboard a U.S. Coast Guard ship since the implementation of the "Wet Foot/Dry Foot" policy in 1994. Transporting the parolees to Guántanamo may just be a moot point if none has ever been granted aylum while at sea.

Of course, Guántanamo is still Cuban territory (leased to the U.S.), so setting foot there does not comply with the "Wet Foot/Dry Foot" Policy.

Let them have part of Guantanamo back for freedom loving Cubans. Before long it would be humming along like Hong Kong. Either that or let them into the US! Sending an escaped slave back to the plantation for beatings, starvation and other punishments right up to and including death is a damnable act by a nation that has become traitors to the ideals of freedom and justice!

May I live to see the day when similar sentiments are expressed by your cousin Val; for then I would surely live forever.

Heck Manuel I'd hope all Cubans everywhere feel that way. Sovereignty of Cuban territory is vital because no people should be micromanaged from afar. That's the Roman model...but I'm preaching to the choir again. Sorry guys.
