blabberjabber of Foggy Bottom
The rumor is out.
Hillary will tap Silent Bob Menendez as one of her top choices for VP (at least for now) to try to get the Cuban vote. She will either use him depending on the primary results in Florida or will unceremoniously dump him for a WASP candidate when or if convenient.
Wow, you'd say.... Silent Bob is "Cuban". And what about the dry-foot wet-foot?
Bien, gracias.
Her "husband" wrote that. W enforced it for more years than Dollar Bill Cohiba.
Silent Bob is reportedly happy as a clam. Apparently nobody told him that Hillary went to Cuba in the late sixties with the Venceremos Brigade to cut sugar cane with Angela Davis and to serve as a propaganda tool for the castro regime.
She was friendly with the late Vilma Espin, but Silent Bob doesn't mind to receive kisses from the same mouth which kissed the old commie hag.
Are you going to vote Cuban? if you do, you're just a stupid fuck.
There's no voting Cuban, moron.

No Havana Hilliary!
Charlie,
I am sorry for Bob Menendez because I get the feeling he is being used by Hillary for her own agenda. He has risen in politics from being the humble Mayor of Union City, to the distinguish position of Senator of New Jersey . He also comes from very humble beginnigs, as he has lived part of his youth and adolescence in a tennament In Union City (his Cuban mother was a poor seamstress in the garment district) and he has made a life long career as a member of the Democracic party. As far as I know he is a good person who means well. My mother has known him personally since he was mayor of Union City and has campaigned for him for many years and in fact he visited her at home during her last birthday (84) and graciously took time from his busy schedule and took her out to dinner. He has helped many Cubans in Northern New Jersey, and in fact saved the port of Newark a few years ago when the Federal Government had made plans to close it saving many jobs for the area. Having said that, I feel that Hillary wants to use him to garnish for herself the Cuban vote in the New Jersey area and the Cuban Democratic vote in Southern Florida. That might be the reason for him getting that spot as a co-chairman of her presidential campaign and the rumor of his candidacy for the vice-presidency slot. In my opinion, he is being used, but who can tell him that, since all politicos want to continue to rise of the Washington circle of power? I happen to know him and during a visit to the States recently, I ran into him in Union City and we spoke for a few minutes about certain issues and one of them was the policy of sending back Cubans stopped on the high seas who had not touched land. I made my point of view known and he told me he was not happy with it but it was US policy and although he might disagree with it we had to abide by the law until it was changed. I asked of him to bring up the subject during one of his session meetings in the Senate and he promised to do so. Now whether he has done anything about it, that I do not know. As far as I know, he is not a bad guy, at least that is not the impression I got from what I now of him. Even though he was not born in Cuba, he has spoken out many times in favor of our cause. I myself do not vote for either party,I don't hold politicians in high regard, but please don't breath a word of that to my Mom. She will probably scold me for it.
The coming election at this point appears to be shaping up as, to paraphrase a late, wise neighbor, picking "the best of the shit."
Or maybe checking the "I reject everybody" box, if there is one.
I won't Agustin, breath a word of this to your Mom, believe me.
Bob has been totally silent in every forum about the dry foot wet foot. He will not dispute it because it was the spawn of his very dear Bill Clinton. But.... well, why on Earth doesn't he write a letter to George W. Bush and scolds him for not having taking it down? How is that he doesn't use his influence in the Senate to spearhead a movement to take it down, since other use their soapboxes for "amnesty"? The Diaz Balart and Ileana are silent on the issue too. Interesting. He can be a great person, but he's not living up to his obligation with his electorate, unless his electorate has no intention of rejecting that inhumane policy (which is U.S policy just because it was a non congressionally approved order signed by Bill Cohiba Clinton)
I doubt his electorate does not want that policy removed from the books though. But the SILENCE is what bothers me the most. Our brothers and sisters are dying in the seas, then the Coast Guard abuses them, sends them back to the Floating Gulag of the Caribbean and nobody DARES to utter a word of disagreement?
As Albert Quiroga says, the reject everybody box is becoming the obvious choice.
Charlie,
that is why I don't vote Democrat or Republican anymore. Both have made promises to the Cuban community time after time and nothing has come of it. As far as I am concern they have to put their money where their mouth is at, before I vote for them anymore. But so far I see no one on the horizon who will address our problem or our concerns. I will make sure my mom knows about the Hillary kising trip to Cuba years agao so she can relay my disgust to Menendez when she sees him. She is good friends with her sister and he can easily get the message through her. Frankly I was not aware of that trip by Hillary and I thank you for the heads up. My Mom is very outspoken when it comes to Cuban issues and I am absolutely sure she will let him know him in no uncertain terms. As we say in Cuba: ella no tiene pelos en la lengua!!
it's time for all politicians to stand up for what's right....wait a minute that doesn't exist anymore..can't believe that Bob would even run with Hilliary KNOWING the history of the Clintons...say it isn't so????
