Communist Propaganda, Advanced Level.
The Tyrannosaurius Rex -which is going the way of other big saurians- is back at his travails with the the ball point and the legal pad. The official garbage can clad of Cuba, Gramna, published yet another "essay of opinion" by "el maximo leader", who by the way, doesn't seem to be leading that much lately.
This doesn't mean that kasstro himself is penning those ramblings.
Let's look at it:
1- kasstro doesn't show up at any public event, he just conducts private photo ops -which can be very well engineered and doctored. So technically, kasstro is a communist unicorn. People believe in his existence, but he's not been seen in a long while.
2- kasstro pens long ramblings, at least once a week. His style is so easily imitated that it is not an difficult thing to do, comics are actually very successful at this, so imagine who successful are propaganda specialists at caricaturizing -albeit rather seriously- the style of the tyrant.
But there's more to it:
1- kasstro can very well engineered a comeback, because as you well know, America loves a comeback and he wants to enjoy the comeback kid status with his adoring and adored American press. But there's some little detail to it: he's not doing that well and he cannot perform his little miracle. So he writes.
2- kasstro might be totally conscious of his impending demise, so he's engineering a fade away in the best Hollywood tradition of an ageing diva who slowly gets out of the limelight until a servant finds her dead in bed. He's a publicity whore, and he cannot allow that the people knows that his image of hombre fuerte is crumbling down in an uncontrollable bowel movement.
3- kasstro is so incapacitated and acting so erratically that raul doesn't want to showcase him because of the embarrassments he could cause with his senility. So this fade away rich in fakery was concocted by the Departamento de Propaganda del Comite Central de Cuba.
Actually, we have received information that the anesthetics approved by kasstro overwriting whatever surgeon and anestheseologist had decided is an old fashioned cocktail known for permanently knocking down elderly people. He didn't trust the anesthesia proposed to him, and his words were "conmigo no van a probar esa mierda cojones!".
The result is that now we have someone worse than kasstro in power: raul.
This is not the first time that kasstro planned to leave power for a while on the hands of raul.
In 1989, during the famous causa 1 -which resulted in giving total control of the repressive forces of the MININT to raul in addition to the troops of the MINFAR- kasstro hinted that he would deal only with international matters leaving raul with the day to day operations of the country. Instead, he had to take his own words back, because raul was a pathetic alcoholic mess during those times, not that he has changed much.
Do you want to know when kasstro is doing better or worse?
When he's doing better a rumor is launched, by both national and international means: "he will show up at this or this other place" type of thing.
When his condition worsens, raul get hysterical and orders an increase on repression.
When kasstro finally dies repression will get to its peak and before, during, and after the State Funeral Cuba will live under a never before known terror state, raul will do the unspeakable in order to keep control. Sadly, he will have international support namely to "guarantee stability" in Cuba as we have discussed previously.
And that will be the ultimate result of a propaganda campaing ordered by raul to keep his hands on both the wheel and the red button.

We all know that Felipe Perez-Roque is a KaSStrista, not a Raulista. I've noticed that a good litmus test for indicating how well KaSStro is doing, is to observe the frequency of appearance of Perez-Roque. Last summer, after making the announcement that KaSStro was transferring power to Raul, Perez-Roque disappeared for a while. It wasn't until the famous mummy appearance in October, that he resurfaced once more. During Christmas, when rumors had it that KaSStro was on his death bed, Perez-Roque was no where to be found. We didn't start seeing him again until around February when KaSStro re-appeared with el Mico Putumayo. Now, after the May Day
No-Show, Perez-Roque has disappeared once more. If he doesn't show up soon, we'll know the Coma-Andante has continued his downward spiral, however it also indicates that Raul is firmly in control.
Very valid point Roland, the thermometer of kasstroactivity can be actually read by observing that bozo of Perro Roque!
