Bown shirts, revisited.

Brown shirts come now in every color.
Brown shirt as a state of mind, the innovative raul-kasstrian method of repression is already being tested on the streets of Havana.
Let's review -for the uninformed- how are the repressive forces structured in Cuba: the police responds to a military structure, and is governed by the Ministerio del Interior (yeah, that one with the mug of che outside) which is also home to the G-2, the Minint Special Forces, the anti-riot brigades, and other repressive and espionage entities.
But the military (FAR)also has their own Special Forces and their own "Urban warfare" units, plus their own intelligence and contraintelligence.
After the fusilamientos and jailings of 1989, raul kasstro managed to be the controling force in both ministries, with the appointment of his own henchmen in both institutions.
Well, they had a reunion the other day, to expedite the creation of yet another repressive force, "civilians" who will be organized in anti-riot units to take on the dissidents. As you read it. The rapid reponse brigades serve their purpose, but they are not organized enough. These brigades will act with military precission and orders of mobilization an action. But they won't wear a uniform, since as raul kasstro said: "the participation of soldiers and policemen in the repression of counterrevolutionary activities doesn't look good, it can be damaging for the image of the revolution, it has to be done by civilians, by the people".
I guess that raul doesn't like olive green to become the new brown. Being the kind of pansy wansy guy he is he prefers "an explosion of colors" or so they say.
We heard that some "brigadas de accion" rapida will be put under the command of military personnel, and that some military units will become paramilitary.
If you thought that the military would not repress the Cuban people, well, we told you so, you were mistaken. The military will purge and kill all of its elements that are not willing to participate in repression, like a tropical rendition of the Katyn Forest massacre.
We are headed to see a Cuban Tian Am Men at any given time now.
Who told you that a communist army is humanitarian?
Who told you that a communist general has a soul?
The repressive machine reinvents itself at every turn of its wheels.
Is this that difficult to understand?

not to tell you what to blog, but as you have mentioned in the past, even if the military doesn't act , there's the not so little matter of the material in the tunnels, which has now been corraborated by different sources

Absolutely on target, Gusano.
Those tunnels contain a lot of mysterious packages which are there for a reason. Not to be forgotten is the assertion by kasstro that the revolution would only end in a ball of fire and all that would left of Cuba would be ashes and blood. That talk volumes of his love for the Cuban people, doesn't it? The problem is that most of the guys with a finger close to the red button are inconditionals of the kasstros, and their fingers are virtual extension of kasstro's finger. They would not hesitate in blowing up the whole country to pixie dust. I simply don't understand how people want to believe what's not real, because there are examples of the military killing Cubans -and going unpunished.
The massacre of the 13 de Marzo, is one of them.
The massacre of the Rio Canimar, another one.
The downing of the planes of Brothers to the Rescue, that's also an example.
The beatings that the political prisoners whitstand every single day, the fusilamientos.
In all of them, the Cuban military (be it the ones from the Minint or from the Minfar) have a a participation. It's widely known that to have the "compromiso de sangre con la revolucion" young kids from the cadet's school were ferried to la Cabana and given the assignment to be part of the shooting squad. In Cuba, every rifle has life ammunition for the shootings. I met one guy who spent ten years in prison for not participating in a shooting squad. He technically participated, but discharged his weapon way over the man who was executed. No trial for him: straight from the shooting squad to a cell in la Cabana (military section next door, actually, in Triscornia) For one who acted with dignity and valor, there were many more who participated in killing a human being just because he didn't agree with the "dogma fidelista".

And And let us NOT forget that the USA was NEVER sure if ALL the atomic weapons that went INTO Kuba, made it OUT of KUBA.
And now with a few hundred hard liners old members of the USSR communist party manning the LOURDES facility I am sure that at least ONE knows where the ON switch is on one of those babies.
