And I have felt always like telling something similar to the people who reduce Cuban realpolitiks to the lack of food.
Among them Andres Oppenheimer, according to his article at the Miami Herald now doing the rounds in the blogosphere, there's the swell idea of giving a steak to every Cuban when kasstro dies. Kind of related to the famous -and apocryph- phrase (non)uttered by Marie Antoinette: "Let them have the cake". If the person who said it didn't take note, look closely, Marie Antoinette was executed by the revolutionary terror after that.
Another thing that really caught my attention was the consideration to "supporters of the (r)evolution and former supporters of the (r)evolution".
I think that the press has distorted this statement grossly and for propaganda reasons.... Maybe we need to start following here the money tray, to see where it leads us. The logics of such a statement is really weak, because, well, if you don't support kasstro any longer, you're gut feeling would be to rip him another asshole and flush him down to hell. Well, the surgeons ripped that asshole on his body for us, now it's time for him to be flushed down to hell, isn't it? I don't think that a former supporter of the revolution -and I know many of them- would be terribly upset if people celebrate kasstro's death.
As I have said, publicly and privately, I don't have anything to celebrate because kasstro was not brought to justice and his brother was crowned reigning queen of Cuba. I have nothing to celebrate because Cuba is not free yet.
As I said, I respect the will of everybody. I simply have no joy to share. I feel that I have achieved nothing if kasstro dies in bed and is not brought to justice. I feel that I can't celebrate with so many Cubans caged in prison, and with another kasstro in power, while evidently a secret deal is made at the price of "stability and no mass migration".
No, I am not mad at people. This is a free country and I do not dictate what people should do.
I know that people feel that a weight is being lifted from them. A monstrous weight. But the death of kasstro under these conditions is not bringing anything, not even a first step, because the propaganda machine has everything under control to react to a party, but not to react to a display of mourning not for the dead man, but for all the Cubans who have died without freedom, separated from their families, killed, maimed, and tortured by the tyranny. We all have family in those cases, both sides of the straits.....
Whoever wants to party will do it, to his/her heart upbeat.
But I have said, we will be totally abandoned after that party, the Goverment will say: "oh, you fuckers celebrated already, gimme a break, so that's the end, we are in business whomever heads the Release 2.0, I am not gonna keep put with you for another 50 years!"
That's what's devastating me.
The whole inferno is going to continue in Cuba, no rafters are every going to be allowed in this counrty, no defecting doctors, and some sort of politic and economic scaffolding is going to be erected to protect the the tyranny, until whatever happen happens.
We are loosing the sights here, it's not a one man, it's his system, he's not the only movable part of that system, he's been designing his final day since day one, to perpetuate the system beyond his death, diabolical? you bet!

Oppenheimer likes to look down at us exiled Cuban riff-raff. thus, the great analogy to Marie Antoniette.
Yesterday the SunSentinel had YET another article how the US is ready for the horde of spics that may raft over ( an event I would welcome because it would force a confrontation b/US & Raul) wher te last sentence is this:

Well, Gusano, the main concern seems to be to keep us Cubans at bay, I mean, just there in the bays of Cuba....
Interestingly enough, they seem to not have any preparations in place for the event that Mexico becomes fully communist and instead of a meager one million Mexicans per year jumping over the fence we get one million a month.

Oh wow, and I read in your blog La Contrarevolucion, that one of the Diaz Balarts boys, Mario, says that "we have to keep our borders secure" when refering to the interdiction of Cubans. Nice, I think that we are becoming here as pesky as the Cubans of the island are for his great uncles the castros. Oh, well, thelr political dynasty is refraining Cubans from coming to the U.S. of A. from both sides of the Straits of Death. For the life of me I can NOT understand ANY Cuban whose heart does not ache for those WITHIN Cuba. We have all lost track of the Joe Papp Yuliet story but I keep in touch with him daily about his progress and BOTH the Kuban government and the USIS , seem to work in a very suspicious manner to impede her arrival to the USA. Why is THAT? Why out of the 20,000 visas that must be given every year for entry in the USA last year were less than 14,000 given , while over 200,000 where requested ? Did the USA run out of room for Cubans or did Miami run out of room for Cubans ?
Hey we will take them up here in NYC, they will take them in Texas, but unfortunately most of the ones in Cuba have families in Miami and are destined to wind up there. If you are a settled individual and have worked hard for you new found (or inherited) American dream , you sure do not want a darky spic moving next to you, regardless if they are Cuban or Dominicans.
