A darling of the media....

The press seems to have a new love affair now that kasstro's no more, and that raul is not precisely a loverboy, they found a new love in el Mico Putumayo.
The mainstream press have been busy the whole damn day in helping el Mico to declare himself winner in the elections, without given much detail, like percentages and figures. Those details are not that important for the press, the whole objective is to get him up there for only one reason: his anti American, anti Bush rhethoric, that's what the press and Jimmy Peanuts love about the guy.
So, tonight they are hellbent in getting the guy "elected" no matter what. And they will get what they want.
On the other hand, raul doesn't seem to be that interested in keeping a chummy relationship with el Mico, and basically let him know that he's been tolerated because of brother fidel. The new relationship with Venezuela has been drafted already, and we have gotten some reports that he has been given some precise room where to move about and have been instructed to keep the distance, so his "Bush is Evil" spiel doesn't get uncomfortable now that raul wants to talk with the USA.
One thing is sure, el Mico already knows that he won't have any participation in the upcoming oil prospection in the waters north of Cuba. Poor guy.
As our readers know, we didn't expect any miracle to happen in Cuba or Venezuela during the course of this weekend.
Unfortunately, I will say, one thing that brought votes to el Mico was his anti-Americanism, his hatred for the USA which still to this day is a great thriumph card in Latin America. Then you have the irregularities, the fraud, and yes, the "technical support" offered by Cuba. After all the Cuban regime needs oil to keep on flowing till American recognizance materializes.
Sorry, but this is what happens when Cuba and Latin America are sent to the back burner in American foreign policy.
