An ancient recipe put to work

That's what el Mico did. He got the oldest page of the book of tyranical politics and read it twice and put it to work. The secret, as my colleague KillCastro brillianty stated, is just to give the populace some solace.
This has been working from pre-Roman times, and quite well.
A tyrant to be just needs to feed the lumpen-proletariat, just needs to inebriate the lumpen proletariat, not even with promises, but with old fashioned cheap alcohol. Like kasstro did in Cuba, and has kept on doing till a few months ago.
The mobs are always fueled by some low end alcohol, and some food. Then a veil of "ideology" is thrown over the chusma, and voila, you've got a revolutionary mob.
Well, el Mico Putumayo applied the lesson from uncle fidel and from all other tyrants before them. With the same great results. He even added some macho shock value, in the form of reminders of his deranged tirade against Bush at the U.N. The lumpen loves a mob leader with cojones, and that tirade was perceived among the lumpen-proletariat of Venezuela as if el Mico was sporting a pair of cojones, which we all very well know he lacks.
I have to say, el Mico doesn't have a che guevara on his side, Venezuela has not seen anything like concentration camps or fusilamientos as we saw in Cuba. His brutality comes only from the brutality of his drunken mobs.
Amazingly enough, the Venezuelan opposition had free press, antichavez TV, freedom of assembly, guns, mobilization resources, anti-chavez army officers, and money, not to mention the extraordinairy plus represented by the whole world looking at the election circus. Very different from the decimated opposition movement in Cuba, to say the least. And they also know very well what happened in Cuba.
What did Manuel Rosales do at midnight? A concession speech. He conceeded. Very nice, very quick, and very easy. He betrayed all the anti-chavez movement with a concession speech. The Venezuelan patriots were ready to take the streets, but their opposition leader goes and surrender to Chavez and his chusma.
Instead of denouncing in front of the world that freedom, personal liberties, and the future of the Venezuelan nation had been stolen by means of fraud, force, and manipulation of the masses, Monsieur Rosales went on and legalized the communist take over of his nation with a few words. Which leaves me with a doubt: was this part of a chavo-communist plot to legitimize the regime?

Update:
kasstro congratulates el Mico, with a beyond ridiculous note, as it proper for a senile bastard.

La Habana, 4 de diciembre de 2006

Juan, no reason to be depressed, this was coming, it was very evident that something was being planned in Havana to get some more spending money till the big 180 degrees turn is announced. The guy in the video looks likes a raul fantasy!
Enrique, indeed, it's a rycicled signature. The babbling seems to be one of his later day rantings, making no sense at all. He's probably done already or in his last leg. It doesn't make a difference or mean anything anylonger. He's as good as dead.
The worst thing that is happening is that the USA have given raul carte blanche to make his government legit with the answer issued by the Department of State to his "business proposal".
As a matter of "communist business", it's very useful for the Cuban government to keep kasstro alive till after the New Year, it's all about propaganda and symbols, and remember that they have devoided the New Year of the festive meaning it usually have in every other country. In Cuba, it's the anniversary of the robolution. So, they might wait a bit, they can wait even until the mausoleum is ready, it doesn't matter. At this point kasstro doesn't have any relevance, he's just an anecdote, and a tragic foot note to history.

Oh brother!
"contundente, aplastante y sin paralelo"

It is always 3 superlatives with KaSStroRhetoric isn’t it?

Where does this form of bullshit come from?

Was it a Russian thing? Or just old "Cubanese" form of speech?

It is SO fucking sickening.

I agree with CB, they will not announce anything till after Jan 1 BUT we should be checking "Juventud Rebelde" closely!

There should be a good amount of "hints" to gauge the people reactions. Juventud Rebelde also seems to have been chosen to de-mystify EL SUMO HIJO DE PUTA, so lets keep an eye on it.

And by the way …

There ARE planned official Christmas celebrations at least at two public venues. One of them by the Ministry of Culture so the “good will” and the perceived glasnost are on track!

Just in, Churches have been notified that the display of Nativities are encouraged. Rumor has that there are going to be a few government honchos attending mass for Christmas and New Year's Eve in the Havana Cathedral. Not raul, who was always a convinced atheist, but maybe some second and third tier apparatchniks. I will venture to say that if raul attends it would be at the request of big brother.

Enrique, so far as I know, that's the real Klaus Nomi. I'm sure raul has all his videos.
