Ghost in the Machine

Needless to say, one finds reminders of the music one loved-loves in the most unlikely places.
Who would have told me that I will be drawn back to the Police by no other than el Mico Putumayo, hugo rafael chavez frias. Well, to be honest, with his assertion that "castro sale por las noches a recorrer campos y villas" -castro goes out at night to walk through the country side and small towns- he also reminded me of Sleepy Hollow and the Headless Horseman. Maybe I should be really become imaginative here and say that what came to my mind was an old garnled skeleton riding an skeleton horse over a devastated Cuba, as the mythological figure of The Death, bringing pain and destruction everywhere. In other words, kassro in death is just a prolongation of what he was in life, the destructive phantom of communism. Now, the Police album title fits him really well to: The Ghost in the Machine. At this point, he's the Ghost at the helm of a ghost vessel, the so called Cuban Revolution. The ghost that plays with the controls and keys of the "collective mind" of the Cuban people through propaganda, the Ghost in control of the ominous repressive system that makes the Devil's nightmares pale by comparison.
That's the Ghost in the Machine. Some time ago I called kasstro the Golem, on this blog, because, as a Golem, he escaped the control of his creators. Also, now that I think about it, they have traditions in the area where his ancestral homeland is from, Galicia, Spain, to kick the Devil out of their country side and towns. Maybe the Galicians did it really well, because the progeny of the kasstros left their land and unfortunately settled in Cuba, in an area where they are also big in trying to get rid of the Devil through magical practices and rites. They haven't been so successful, yet. But less go back to el Mico Putumayo: he is an ignorant superstitious prick, but y'all already knew that. So maybe he's claiming in his confusing and primitive poor language that he is actually in touch with kasstro, who is already settled in Hell forever. Maybe he is speaking in the tongues of witchcraft for his followers, telling them that he is actually in touch with the beyond the grave realm, and that Papa Kasstro is his Voodoo mentor from the Other World. Well Mico, we wish. And we wish he calls you to his side very soon too.
