Te pego un tiro....

Ramiro “te pego un tiro” Valdes has been calling all the shots lately, according to well placed sources in Havana. Let’s clarify something here: “te pego un tiro” is not a so nice sounding phrase in Spanish that equals in English to “I’ll shoot you”. That’s the oldest known knickname ever sported by Ramiro Guayabera Valdes, or Ramiro Darth Valdes, or Ramiro El Chivo Valdes.
Our sources say that in not so very subtle moves, Darth Valdes is just ordering and bossing everybody and everything around. That both fidel and raul have been reduced to decorative figures –as I said in a previous post, Valdes is exploiting the brand recognition factor- and that they have been rendered totally irrelevant in a bloodless coup. Very telling is that the spy whose name I wont’ even mention, the guy responsible for the downing of the Brothers to the Rescue planes has been detained and there are rumors that many military officers have been stripped of their power and their commanding positions.
Which is the old Soviet protocol used to deal with succession of powers, as we have said, Ramiro is a Ruskie at heart and he’s been doing a lot of talking with Russian Mafia kingpins who were –oh surprise- commie honchos back in the day.
Our well placed sources said that the Ruskies were sent by Putin as a second tier delegation –everybody knows that a Russian Prime Minister doesn’t have more political clout than a Kremlin flower arrangement, and that it was a message to communicate that he feels that the kasstros are out of the game already. On the other hand, they didn’t ask to meet with kasstro, and no surprise reception was arranged. They drove into their old embassy, and all the talking and other shenanigans associated with their “business” have been conducted there.
With the exception of one escapade this morning, which would not surprise me if it has had Jaimanitas as its destination. Jaimanitas? And why? Just because Ramiro Darth Valdes lives there, and he is the one in command right now.
We are at the verge of the implantation of Castrianism (thanks Asha for your coinage) c’est a dire, the communist religion of hate without the presence of the kasstros. Let’s keep an eye open!

PS. Alfredo from el Cafe Cubano was awfully close with his mention of the historic nickname.
