Chop Suey Demokrazy
The Maoist method.
The Cultural Revolution.
The rice.
The bycicles.
Even that tropical version of the rickshaw, the bicitaxi, all of that is well inland the province of control of raul castro.
For example, China is a major supplier in computer parts used mainly in the military.
Also, after the Russians were gone, China provided the parts for the Cuban version of the famed AK47 assault rifle.
China is involved in the exploitation of however much or however little oil is in Cuba. Cuba built a hotel in Shanghai.
There are signs that China is investing very heavily in the portuary infrastructure of Cuba. China practically owns the Panama Canal, thanks to Carter.
And the U.S. loves business with China.
In China, the internet is controlled, censored, and basically owned by the the ideolological police. Same in Cuba. Google and Yahoo are the cops by proxy, because, well you know, that's a gazillion people market! And maybe, we add a chapter to that market with 12 million people just here down the block.
In China, there's no humans rights to speak about. Same in Cuba.
A Chinese cannot travel freely, inside or outside the country. Same in Cuba.
The communist party is the only legal party. Ditto in Cuba.
freedom of expression, assembly, religion, and tought are banned in China. Again, same in Cuba. I could write a long list, but alas, I am also human and I don't want to have more nausea than needed.
Taking clues from the wonderful relationships we have with China, and how much Chinese money runs around in Washington D.C. it's safe to assume that the Chinese model will work wonders in a certain neighboring island.
Remember the leftist mantras? we can travel to China, what not to Cuba? (note: Americans make the second largest group of LEGAL travelers to Cuba, ask Johnny in Kalamazoo) we do business with China why not with Cuba? (note: the US is the first food and medicine provider for Cuba, and the fourth trading partner with Cuba, exiles send about a billion dollars a year to Cuba, from wherever they live, so that sounds like business to me)
If kasstro plays a Chinese gambit from his death bed (because his prognosis is THAT bad) it would ensure the survival of his feudal system untouched.
And maybe it would be good for business.
Would it be good for the Cuban people?
I doubt it. Ans sincerely, the future investors couldn't care less.
And y'all know that this could have been prevented: a military unit should have disembarked in the roof of the hospital when kasstro was under the knife and should have taken control of the situation. But we were really busy at the moment giving money to Lebanon where two terrorists from Hamas hold Ministries in the government. Sorry, Cubans, we have lived up to our tradition of not missing any opportunity to miss the opportunity of really get rid of kasstro.
Don't tell me that the U.S. government knew nothing about kasstro whereabouts and status. If they didn't they should spend more time reading KillCastro and they would have found out.
Still, there's another alternative; the federation with Venezuela. And in that one, China is also present. And Iran, Syria, and Lybia. Wonderful. Plus some veiled Russian interests.
Honestly, the prospect of a Cuba under that sphere of influence is not very appealing. I would prefer to see the American flag and the Cuban flag flying side by side than to have a continuation of the present slavery under any form or guise.
I know. Many people don't agree with me.
And I bet that many of those who don't agree with me will happily make money in Cuba at the expense of the Cubans.

Practically the entire world is falling over themselves in a rush to praise the so called transition in Cuba. But nothing has changed except the mask on the face of the serpent. Once again, the Cuban people are abandoned to a cruel fate. I don't know if history will judge correctly the terrible wrongs committed against them, but God surely will.
Don't think that the "China " Model is all that succesful. The banking sytem reputivively a house of cards...Foreign Businesses have to give a lot of control to the chinese gov't on the promise of future profits ... and the commie officials in the rural areas are so corrupt that riots have to be conatantly put down to keep themselves in control.....
