Spreading his wings
A friend is leaving Cuba now.
He's been on the air for a few minutes, and for the first time in his life he's a free man. He will encounter a whole new world in the old world, in a few hours from now. He wrote a very heartfelt e-mail this morning, a very long one, and I have to talk to him when he reaches his final destination in a very beautiful and very free small European country. He will have a great life there, and his talents are going to be appreciated, and he will be able to have a normal life with his wife.
Nonetheless, he's leaving people behind, that's the hard part of the experience, for which he is very well prepared.
I promised him that I would write a short piece to debunk the myth of the tyranny as a justification to have free education and healthcare. He knows that I am an incurable insomniac, so there are no surprises here, I did my homework while the rest of the freeworld slept....

The majority of the European countries, Canada, and Japan have both socialized medicine and socialized education. Britain included. Germany. The Czechs, Spain.... The Scandinavian countries are famous for their incredible development in medical sciences, and they have free education. Switzerland has the most advanced educational system in Europe, and a healthcare system that goes beyond anything imagined. But the most important point these countries have in common is that they are free countries, without tyrannies of any form, kind, or shape.
Now, let's get Mean Mr. Kasstro to explain that.
He will start talking about a "blockade", which is pure cow manure, or bullshit.
There's no blockade, and there's no embargo of any type against Cuba.
We are surrounded by enemies! he would say.
I have a question, Mean Mr. Kasstro, who is your enemy? the States? That's your biggest business partner, you liar!
We are at war! he would scream, and I would say, this is my turn: Israel is surrounded by enemies, blockaded by some Arab countries, subject to negative propaganda, suffering terrorist attacks on a daily basis, in a permanent state of war, receiving illegal and legal immigrants, and still, they have free education and free healthcare for everybody! just ask the one million Arab Israelis who wouldn't leave Israel for all the gold of your bank account, Mean Mr. Kasstro!
And no, Israel doesn't have a tyranny, either.
So you're argument is bullshit, dirty old man. Now go and do me a favor, die.

While he was inside the belly of the BEAST, he was of invaluable help in letting us what was REALLY going on in "Devil's Island”. He has solid gold COJONES; he put his life on the line every time he went out and took pictures or dared to send an email under the cover of night. He did HIS job, to the best of his abilities and with his hands tied behind his back by both KaSStro and some of our ridiculous policies towards Cubans in the Island. He deserves FREEDOM. His tour of duty is up! A god damn lifetime. Too bad he leaves Kuba with a bad taste in his mouth towards the USA. Too bad the USA seems to play directly into KaSStro's charade by perpetuating (at least on paper) this "Embargo". Too bad the USA has been as misguided as to what is REALLY required to get rid of the monster. Too bad that Cuba has been written off by the USA, and even worse that the Cubans inside the Island have written the USA off. This portends tremendous opportunities for the likes of the EU if KaSStro was ever going to be overthrown. With the DISTINCT possibility of a Kuba/Venezuela annexation down the pike and the USA just sitting idling by (actually not idling, but at full throttle destroying any hope Cubans have to freedom) those who can, MUST leave. If the USA could not strangle KaSStro economically, nor with the stupidest foreign policies ever imposed on a nation, a KuZuela tyranny is gonna be impossible to bring down. In fact the USA will capitulate that much more after an annexation. The USA will take the oil over Cuban’s welfare anytime. If they did not give a shit before, why would they when it DIRECTLY affects USA economic intrests?
NO ONE within Kuba will be able to do shit on their own. so.. WELCOME to freedom my friend. Fortunately you go to a beautiful European country and you will be able to help those you leave behind and carry on with your struggle from the outside. Maybe you can deliver to them a more hopeful message from Europe that we can from the USA.
Enjoy your freedom, I know you will NEVER forget those left behind!
