A few thousands of illegal immigrants marched down the Brooklyn Bridge carrying flags from a dozen plus countries -I certainly don't buy that, the real illegals in NYC are working in fancy restaurant kitchens and they don't have a minute off, while there are a bunch of people on welfare with all the time of the world in their hands for this and more, those are the ones wearing che huevera t-shirts.
The point is, that there was not a single Cuban flag in sight.
Why?
Cubans are not immigrants, much less illegals, they are political refugees!
Down with the dry-foot wet-foot!

And that's the whole lenght of my participation in this new immigration debate.

Not all of us CB, some of us are in fact immigrants, and the children of immigrants.
I think that our turning our backs on the other immigrant communities in this country is repulsive and dangerous. We may just end up cutting off our own nose to spite our face.

I don’t recall reading the adjustment law and there were sections as to who would be an immigrant or a refugee . it said CUBANS BORN IN CUBA

My Father was in fact born in Cuba, so was my mother, what you don't seem to understand is that some Cuban immigrated to the US before the revolution. Most of the old Cuban colonies like Tampa tend to fall into this category. We're not all refugees. Some of us are Immigrants.

Have you ever lived in Miami. Every sign I have to have on my wall is in three languages, english, spanish, and creole. At least 50% of all Cubans I know don't speak english. Almost 90% of all resent "refugees" don't speak english.
No Cuban immigrants from my fathers day were not illigal, but do you have any idea what it took to get a visa? My old man lucked out, a one in a million chance. I lived in Mimai for a few years and Spanish was not imposed in anyways onto other people. Actually, when the Nicaraguans and others arrived it was that documents like the drivers license were made possible to be obtained by taking the exam in Spanish. I don't know about any Cuban whose children don't pick up Spanish immediately. As per your figures, MadTom, I don't know where you get those 50% and 90%. And yes, we are infiltrated. Cubans did NOT need a Visa to come to the USA ! Nor Americans needed a Visa to go to Cuba.
A favorite weekend of ANY Cuban (with money of course) waas to go to AEROVIAS Q in Miramar (ner mu house) and buy the "weekend GetAway" package to Miami, you then just borded the plane and in 45 minutes you were in Miami with all the goodies included, so again you know SO little about Cuba I dont understand why you insist in showing it in public.

My father was coming here to work, not a gambling weekend, and yes you did need a visa to come here and work as a musician on South Beach for the winter snow bird season. And the old man took the ferry for $15.
I have another story. My old man worked at night as a musician on South Beach, and live at a boarding house, some old lady that rented rooms to the snow birds for the season, well he worked at night so he would get up around noon eat lunch and then sit on the porch with the snow birds and chat. well one of the neighbors got suspicious or scared or something because she would see this "latino" sitting on the porch everyday, never saw him get up and go to work or anything, so she called immigration. well my father is sitting there one day when the G-men show up, walk up to him and ask him for his papers, and why he did not work, how could he aford to sit there every afternoon???
Of course he had papers and explained that he was a musician and worked nights.
