What's next?
The latest report say that the President would use his right to veto, in order to secure the deal. Mind you, he doesn't take a proactive stance with regards to the dry foot wet foot, apparently a Cuban refugee posses a bigger danger to this country than an Muslim terrorist, and we already have the Coast Guard doing the dirty work for kasstro, serving as his jail guards by proxy by preventing Cubans from gaining freedom.
Among the ports that are part of this sell out is the Port of Miami, and the Port that includes the body of water separating New York and New Jersey, I wonder why these ports were given to the Arabs, when kasstro is right there, he would love to have control on these ports located in the heart of the Cuban community in exile. Imagine how many spies he could (and would) plant...
I don't know about the Port Miami, but Governor Pataki already promised to take action to prevent this insanity from happening. I don't think that Governor Bush is opposing his brother and I certainly hope that the mayor of Miami step up to the plate to defend the security of his city and his constituency.
I just wonder how is that we haven't outsorced the Border Patrol functions to the Mexican Army, after all, el Mico Putumayo Chavez is in total freedom to distribute oil in the States in selected areas controlled by friendy politicians.
Where are the politicians who represent the affected areas? Are they saying "no to this madness", are they mentioning that we have soldiers dying on the war on terror and that the profits of this new port operations could very well be used to fuel terrorism? No?
If they remain silent and this utter stupidity becomes a fact, I am pretty sure that a thank you card primorously handwritten by Osama bin Laden in classic Arab will be promptly on its way.

Coincidently my client meeting today had to do with a company that specializes in port communications ( they guide the ship to docking in a very archaic ( turn by turn process) with all the technologies now a days you’d think this would be done via automated GPS but it is isn’t. My client was in total dismay that Bush's plan could be even considered (and hey ARE republican and in fact the CTO is an Israeli Air force engineer who designed the Israeli air defense system- needless to say this is ONE pissed of Israeli. As per their own words this is suicidal, because even if they did nothing within the USA information needs to be shared at port that can be very easily used to wreck havoc in another ports. Today I learned there are 100 ports in the USA with 5 "enclaves" in each port and each holds between 5 to 10 ships so THAT is a LOTTA cargo and a LOTTA exposure.
If Bush keeps following this lunacy he may be confronted with a total fragmentation of the Republican Party and as my client said today he may be impeached for lack of responsible thinking. I am sure the CLITons are having a fucking party , and I want Bush to go on TV and tell US why cant an American company or even the USA military take care of this VERY serious threat to our security!
Let's start thinking for an alternative political party ‘cause ... I am just not voting republican anymore! I HAVE HAD IT WITH THIS SHIT!
I can picture the party with Kerry, Gore, Dean, the Clintons (well, the President is calling Clinton his brother way too many times lately) plus Serrano, Al Sharpton, Chawlie Rangel, Jesse Shakedown Jackson. Just imagine how drunk in happiness is Ted Kennedy right now. They might very well invite kasstro to celebrate! Free trade with kasstro from Arab controlled ports, that sounds scary!
The very idea of putting our ports in any foreign hands is insane. This has to be stopped.
yeap, bush keeping loosing suport more and more everyday by the people that was behind him all the time, his second term as a president is a total disaster and I wish I never had to say that,I feel very sad,I feel betrayed.
The only state-wide Florida politician I've heard discuss this is Senator Bill Nelson, a Democrat - he's absolutely opposed to the deal. He also opposes fidel, supports the state military bases, and opposes cutting the carrier fleet by decommissioning the USS Kennedy. Those reasons are probably enough to get him reelected this year, since the Republicans don't seem to be putting up any opposition. Katherine Harris has announced but has not announced any policies that I've heard.
Jeb Bush is supporting his brother.
The El Nuevo Herald has Ileana Ros-Lehtinen's reaction and more. I don't know why it's only in Spanish.

She was very happy with the State of the Union address, even apologetic at the omission of Cuba, so her happiness was shortlived with the sellout of the ports. I hope they realize that they have been played like a fiddle in regards with the dry-foot wet-foot and Cuba.
I had COMPLETLY forgotten that I saw a documentray of Ms. Ros-Lehtinen leading a congressional group to Afghanistan to asses the situation , the progress and possible needs they may have that may have gone overlooked.
It pissed me off to NO end seeing this wman speaking of DEMOCRACY and how it is a GREAT step in global freedom to have Afghanistan joi the ranks of the free countries of the world , and blah blah blah. How bravely the Afgnanis fought etc.
One VERY poignant momemnt came when she apologized for the USA living the "freedom fighters" against the Taliban HANGING after the USA promise unconditional military support ( Hmmm .... GIRON anyone?)
BTW Ros-Lehtinen was wearing a head covering thing throught the meeting.
I could only wonder if she was devoting so much time to the Cuban cause as she is the Afghani cause and of course I realize this is a USA congresswoman and NOT a Cuban congresswoman. Someone who want to keep a HIGH profile withing USA politics and not necesarily through her efforts for a free Cuba.
