Mexico Halts Plan to Give Border Maps to Migrants

MEXICO CITY (Jan. 26) -- A Mexican government commission said Thursday it will suspend plans to distribute border maps to migrants planning to cross the border illegally, but it denied the decision was a response to U.S. criticism.
Miguel Angel Paredes, the spokesman for the federal Human Rights Commission, said plan would be "rethought" because human rights officials in border states expressed concern that the maps would show anti-immigrant groups -- like the Minutemen civilian patrols -- where migrants were likely to gather.
"This would be practically like telling the Minutemen where the migrants are going to be," Paredes said. "We are going to rethink this, so that we wouldn't almost be handing them over to groups that attack migrants."
Mexican officials and media frequently depict civilian border patrols as "attacks" on migrants, a largely unsubstantiated accusation and one denied by the groups.
On Wednesday, Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said the United States opposes "in the strongest terms" the plans to distribute the maps .
"This effort will entice more people to cross, leading to more migrant deaths and the further enrichment of the criminal human trafficking rings that prey on the suffering of others," Chertoff said.
Asked if the Mexican decision was a response to U.S. pressure, Paredes said "no, we are not responding to that... we have not taken that into account."
The commission, a Mexican government-funded agency with independent powers, originally said it would distribute at least 70,000 maps showing highways, rescue beacons and water tanks in the Arizona desert.
The Mexican commission denied the maps would encourage illegal immigration. Instead, it argued that the maps would help guide those in trouble to find rescue beacons and areas with cell phone reception.
But now, the group will "seek other ways" to help migrants, Paredes said.

So wait a fucking second here ... this is NOT that this "map" thing is tantamount to giving a bunch thieves the blue prints to a Swiss bank, this is because they are afraid that the USA government would be alerted as to where the illegal are ?
Man some of these Mexican politicians have COJONES the size of fucking PAPAYAS.
Now let me ASK ya...
What if the Mexican government made an agreement with the USA government whereby the Mexican government would pay for the safe relocation of Mexicans to the USA. The Mexican government builds cheap housing for these poor souls and let them do the work that Americans are not willing to do (let's face it, not a LOT of Mexican illegal doing brain surgery in East LA!)
So now , with a steady source of income , these Mexicans can in fact gradually repay the Mexican government for their SAFE relocation to the USA , the USA doesn’t waste money in tracking them down (instead they receive a much needed - and right now inexistent income tax) and they ALL live happily ever after ?
Or is it a thing that the USA MUST get fucked so that the Mexican government doesn’t have to do THEIR GOD DAMN JOB of taking care of its people?
