New Orleans
The City of New Orleans will experience a renaissance after this tragedy.
This is consistent not only with the history of the US, it's consistent with the history of humanity, after every disaster we have emerged fortified and wiser.
Maybe New Orleans has to be rebuilt on higher grounds.
It will be a city of hope, a city of light.
Faith and force is what's needed to rebuilt the ravaged city, and we will prove to the world that this is the greatest nation ever when our own Pompeii is rebuilt to shine even brighter.
Let's start reversing the tragedy, at least in mind and spirit, and let's start a fire of hope for all the victims. There will be light. A bright divine light.
UPDATE
There have been reports describing heavy gunfire in New Orleans, and an ambulance helicopter could have been hit by gunfire -this prompted to end the airborne evacuations. Are they heavily armed street thugs? Did these weapons come from looting? Is there any terror instigation behind this? Were there suspected terror cells in New Orleans? Let's not forget that the population is very diverse in the area. The gunmen seem to be targeting the police and SWAT teams almost exclusively. Again, those elements need to be taken out as soon as possible and by all means, as the first condition to guarantee the relief operations and the reconstruction of the city.
UPDATE: FATS DOMINO AMONG THE MISSING
R&B legend Fats Domino, whose real name is Antoine Domino, told his agent he planned to stay at his New Orleans house with his family, and there are no news about them at this point. He used to live in the 9th Ward, a low lying area of the City.
