Cultists, enablers and assholes OH MY!

I recently forwarded a scan of a 1956 payroll check to “therealcuba.com” in an effort to quench this MYTH that the Cuban worker before KaSStro was exploited and unfairly rewarded by big corporations – The PRIMARY propaganda of KaSStroSpeak.
Well the check was indeed posted and it generated the comments at the bottom of this post by an asshole enabler by the name of Gregory T. Cushman.
Google this guy – he has an interesting record as a pundit of just about EVERYTHING under the sun. His expertise about Cuba lies in three factors.

1) He IS married to a Cuban
2) He has visited the real Cuba (Oh MY!)
3) He is a “history expert” who has spent a great deal of time studying Latin American economics.

First I am going to address this petulant little lackey’s idiotic reasoning for doubting the validity of this check. (See Here)

Here we have an "ASSISTANT PROFESSOR" who is AN EXPERT in History ( why he hasn't become a professor I guess we do not discuss!)

THEN, he looks at a WHOLE web site(www.therealcuba.com) full of irrefutable evidence about KaSStro Barbarism and he leeches onto something that he can misinterpret at his leisure just by making irresponsible assumptions . Let me enumerate the degree of this asshole’s BULLSHITING capabilities

1) He ASSUMES (there is no place in that check that mentions this) that the 547 checks go to clerks who THEN will pay day-workers...
How he comes up to this conclusion is beyond comprehension, but I dare to guess that he is mistakenly translating the word "jornales" to mean " daily-workers" as "jornaleros" is a common expression for Mexican daily workers. Unfortunately he may be an expert in History but knows SHIT about the Spanish language or how we used it.
JORNAL was used in Cuba as a synonym of "salary" - end of THAT fucking bit of fantasy on the part of this idiot.

2) Why would there be "daily workers" or unskilled labor within the Bacardi building? In fact what possible need would Bacardi have to have unskilled workers? Bacardi did not cut sugar cane, Bacardi produced Rum & Beer and NOT sugar, so this "unskilled" reference is another moronic assumption on the part of this asshole.

3) Day-wage workers were not paid by check! Okay where the fuck does this twit get that from? First he ASSUMES this money was to meant to pay SEVERAL THOUSAND Zafra workers ( sugar cane cutters).
He totally ignores the fact tha Bacardi was NOT in the business of producing SUGAR , they bought Sugar from nearby "Centrales" and that checks were the usual mode of payment for workers, blue or white collared

My father was a Phone company Engineer and got paid by check ($220 pesos a month! ) now you say well yes cause he was an Engineer . Well my two uncles who lived next door to me also got paid by check and they were delivery boys for a pharmacy in Miramar. How much was their check? $67.00 pesos a month. They would usually cash them at the local grocery store, after paying their monthly bill.

This idiot knows NOTHING about Cuba but we Cubans, ALL of us remember the "apuntalo en la cuenta" . It was a common practice in Cuba to buy your daily needs and pay at the end of the month when you got your PAYCHECK!

Was Cuba a utopia before KaSStro? Well that is another stupid statement by a pseudo intellectual twit whose claim to fame in this life time is to consider himself an expert AND lug a REAL professors books around.

Were there poor, DIRT poor people in Cuba BC ? Yeah LOTS of them! Were sugar cane cutters making the kind of salary that are depicted in the check? NO.. But we NEVER SAID THEY DID!

This prick ASSUMES (by his dismal understanding of Cuban semantics in 1956 ) that we are.

So as it usually happens, this moron ignores the pictures of Biscet’s jail , the atrocious conditions of the "GREAT health facilities in Kuba, and targets an issue based on HIS assumptions about Cuban semantics and Latin American economics of the time. There you go bud, Now we know why you are a flunky.

Since this asshole decided to include his name and phone numbers in his email, this becomes public knowledge and it is included so any of you with the inclination can tell this arrogant piece of scum where to go.
Oh and by the way, do not forget to Google this piece of shit. You will find he is a LOT more than an expert in Cuban affairs!
And NOW to the BULLSHIT …

Dear "the real Cuba":
One of my family member just forwarded me the following link: Destroying the Myth
I took a close look at that 1956 pay statement issued by Bacardi.
The accompanying explanation is the biggest pile of pseudo-historical bullshit I've seen in a long time.
I am a professional historian, and I've spent days(oh MY!) reading through documents of this sort from similar businesses operating in Peru, Ecuador, and the United States (and yes, I've done Cuban research, as well).
This document means that 547 checks were issued TO PAY CLERKS (now how he KNOWS this is beyond comprehension) who then distributed CASH payments to employees ("jornales"). Day-wage workers were not paid by check!
Only SALARIED employees were paid by check.
This sum was probably divided among several thousand workers during the zafra. This posting displays historical ignorance of the most disgusting kind.
You are essentially claiming that an average, unskilled or semi-skilled Bacardi worker in 1956 made the equivalent of US$14,000 in 2005 US dollars.
That is far more, in real dollars, than U.S. unskilled and semi-skilled workers were paid at the time! It is far more than either of my U.S. grandfathers made (your grandfather was probably as much of an idiot as YOU are) Indeed, Cuba B.C. was a utopia!!!
I'm really glad you posted this.
This will become an exhibit in my historical methods course to show how people use historical documents to tell politically motivated LIES--because that is what this is. (Glad to be of service, dont forget to link to THIS page as well)

(P.S. And yes, I've seen the "real Cuba"--staying with my in-laws in Oriente, including the special period--and the "fake Cuba," living in Miami.
If los exilios cubanos (sic) (hey an attempt at Spanish , it is EXILADOS you uneducated turd!) actually admitted to the truth a little more often, maybe we would be living in a post-Castro world. I'm still waiting for you guys to do something that doesn't simply make that goat stronger.
Sincerely,
Gregory T. Cushman

This guy is either a renaissance man or a jack of all trades... "americanization of meteorology", several drivels on history of Peru and Cuba, "the current of el Niño", and assorted bullshit... Really. So, somebody with no practical skills, a knack for bullcrap and quack-science is one of the luminaries that "analyze" a check and assumes all sort of things to come with an outlandish theory that he ends up believing and that he considers the absolute truth. Quick, hide the DaVinci Code and Harry Potter, this guy might believe it all!!!! Why on Earth are we wasting time with this self appointed expert? Well, we are sort of perverse, we love to decontruct leftards and pseudointellectuals to smithereens. One thing, this guy is on his way to a Ph.D. He teaches. He deforms and misinforms and undo whatever education a student might have. He probably own at least a che t, and several pairs of sandals... how pathetic!!!!

I am inclined to believe he is just delusional. He can NOT accept that with ALL this knowledge wandering in that empty skull he hasn't been able to raise beyond the title of "assistant". How pathetic!
DaVinci indeed! He probably THINKS he is , you know? They used to put assholes like him in the little white padded rooms along side of guys wearing Napoleon hats.
Imagine his utter anger when 80% of Cuban exiles are making more money than HIM. And his TWO grandfathers were USA citizens. Fuckin’ A. What a family pool !
This guy is just like a fraction of an inch away from wearing a name tag at work and asking “wun sum fries wid dat ma’m?”
